Présentation: FRED ACADEMY: A DYNAMIC SCHOOL!
AN EXPANDING SCENE
Fred Academy has operated from its present premises in the centre of Brussels since 1996 (Rue de la Révolution 18). It is continuously expanding and the school has built up to a roll of some 400 regular pupils.
Fred Academy caters for amateurs (children from 4 years old, adolescents, adults and even pensioners) just as much as for professionals on the stage (dancers, actors, singers, etc). The academy's reputation has spread beyond Belgium 's boundaries thanks to its professional approach and dynamic spirit. Pupils come from Liège, Namur , Mons , Ghent or Antwerp every week to attend normal classes whilst the workshops give a welcome to students from all over Europe
Fred Academy boasts two dance rooms, one of which is fully fitted out to the highest quality to receive tap classes. As well as having flooring specially made for tap dancing, the downstairs room has been equipped with acoustic baffles to limit the resonance and to optimise the quality of the sound emanating from the taps. The room comes complete with a piano as well as a professional sound system. At the dawning of the 2006-2007 season, the upper room has been restored and fitted out with a brand new flooring.
Fred Academy shows itself to be a high performance school, constantly evolving its equipment, and meeting its own stringent benchmarks, offering a top class working environment to Brussels ' dancers
Fred Academy offers classes in Tap Dance, Funk, Hip Hop, Video Dance, Break Dance, Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Contemporary Dance, Salsa, Merengue, Flamenco, Tango, Oriental Dance, Pre-Dance, Musical Comedy, Stretching, African Dance, Afro-Ragga-Funk and Theatre. Wishing to meet the needs of all its pupils, the school offers a large scope of regular classes both during the week and the week-end. There are also many workshops at week-ends and bank holidays.
Each discipline is catered for at several levels, from beginners to professionals, child or adult In order to allow each pupil to choose a timetable most suitable for them, every class is taken several times a week. The normal attendance at the school is 1 to 2 hours a week, although some professionals train here every day! |
